" "Rather than climbing up a ladder seeking perfection, we are unfolding into wholeness." Carl G. Jung
Individual therapy, psychotherapy or counselling is one on one sessions between the client and the psychologist. It is a collaborative process between the psychologist and the client and the therapeutic relationship forms the basis for exploration and transformation.
Therapy is integrative, holistic and tailored to the individual's needs and what fits for them. I follow a psychodynamic approach with a special interest in Jungian psychology, existential psychology and attachment theory.
Coming for therapy and dealing with emotional difficulties and past hurts can be hard, distressful and sometimes damn scary and therefore a confidential, non-judgmental and safe environment is created where clients can share their struggles and concerns.
I work with adolescents, young adults and adults in short-term or long-term therapy.
I assist clients in English and Afrikaans at my Counselling Psychologist private practice in Pretoria East.
I assist clients in therapy with the following difficulties:
-
Adjustment to life changes and
challenges -
Mood difficulties, Depression, Bipolar, Anxiety
-
Trauma and Complex Trauma
-
Adult ADHD and Autism (Neurodivergence)
-
Dependency issues (including sex and gambling)
-
Perpetration, anger, aggression
-
Health concerns (special interest in counselling cancer patients)
-
Weight or eating difficulties
-
Grief and Bereavement counselling
-
Relationship difficulties
-
Stress/burnout
-
Therapy is also simply for those who feel lost,
struggling to find their way, wanting to make
sense of the chaos, who feels something is
amiss, who desire to better understand
themselves or who seeks personal development. s
